Steve McQueen at his steely-eyed best as Detective Frank Bullitt. Set in late 60s San Francisco, we follow Bullitt as he tries to protect a witness from a bunch of thugs who dont want him to confess. The plot doesn’t matter so much, what matters is (a) Steve Mcqueen (b) McQueen’s souped up 390 Mustang. Mcqueen did most of his own stunt driving, realism which pays off with one of the best car chases on film! Bullitt is more proof that Mcqueen was the king of cool…on screen and off.
