Thank you for mentioning the great Irving
Brecher. His book, written with journalist Hank Rosenfeld over seven years and many pastrami sandwiches, is just out. It’s called “THE WICKED WIT of the WEST – The last great Golden Age screenwriter shares the hilarity and heartaches of working with Groucho, Garland, Gleason, Burns, Berle, Benny Goodman; many more.” It was Groucho who dubbed him The Wicked Wit of the West.

HI Allan,
What a fabulous site!!! Just wanted to let you know on the Bettie Page obit/memorial pic in February 2009′s blog, you have a picture of Gretchen Mol playing Bettie Page, not Bettie herself.
Thanks and keep up the great work – love this site.

I’m very surprised that you don’t know who Bettie Page is. Please kindly post a picture of the real Bettie Page, and take down the picture of Gretchen Moe who you have mistaken for Bettie.

I know who Bettie Page is though I admit I’m not that familiar with her. I guess its a compliment to Ms Moe for her incredible likeness to Ms Page. I apologize for the error.
