Scenes for the upcoming Adam Sandler film, Funny People (2009) will begin filming Monday at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. A set for a large granite family mausoleum was completed today on the grounds of the Garden of Exodus (Section 13) sector of the cemetery.

The mausoleum in the center is a set for the upcoming Adam Sandler film, Funny People

The plot of Funny People from imdb.com:

“George (Adam Sandler) is a very successful stand up comedian who learns that he has an untreatable blood disorder and is given less than a year to live. Ira (Seth Rogen) is a struggling up-and-coming stand up comedian who works at a deli and has yet to figure out his onstage persona. One night, these two perform at the same club and George takes notice of Ira. George hires Ira to be his semi-personal assistant as well as his friend.”

Studio workers put the finishing touches on the Funny People “mausoleum.”

Over the past few years, writer/director Judd Apatow (The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Knocked Up) has shown that nothing—not even losing your virginity or the miracle of childbirth—is sacred. About his third film behind the camera, he says, “I’m trying to make a very serious movie that is twice as funny as my other movies. Wish me luck!”

Apatow directs Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen and Leslie Mann in Funny People, the story of a famous comedian who has a near-death experience. The cast also includes Eric Bana and Jason Schwartzman. Funny People will be distributed by Universal on July 31, 2009.

Close-up view of the Funny People mausoleum set. The name LINDER is written over the entrance. A realistic stained-glass window can be seen in the back.

The family “mausoleum” is in the background. The standing tombstomes at the front of the photo are also fake.

More “fake” tombstones for the film Funny People.

30th ANNIVERSARY OF

Halloween

THE ‘HALLOWEEN’ HOUSES

Two of the original houses from the 1978 hit film Halloween, starring Jaime Lee Curtis, are on Orange Grove Avenue, a tree-lined street in Hollywood. Many of the other locations in the film can be found in Pasadena and Alhambra.

In the film this was the Wallace residence where the murder of Laurie’s (Jaime Lee Curtis) best friend, Annie, took place. The house has changed as the garage on the left has been added since the film was made.

Across the street is the Doyle residence, where Laurie was baby-sitting Tommy. The house has changed very little in the last 30 years. The brick pillars are still in the front, however, there are now hedges between them. In the film, the children can be seen running out of the house and between the pillars and onto the street.

PLEASE NOTE: These are private homes! Do not trespass on the property,
knock on their doors, or do anything else that might disturb the residents!
